On this page we will be sharing all the modifications we do on Betty. We will be adding to this page all the time, so make sure to check back every now and then!
These modification are just to personalise the van and make storage easier. The van itself is perfect and we love the layout, however there are always going to be changes to make it feel more like our van.

Seat Covers – These were important for us to get right away. Having a small child and a dog we wanted to protect the seats from getting messy. I have used a waterproof sheet underneath the soft fleece blanket material, as this will help protect the seats from a child’s sticky fingers and spilled drinks.

The wardrobe in the CV80 is placed under the fridge. When we looked around the van we really liked that the fridge was higher up and not on floor level. It would stop Archie and the dog getting into it. However this meant the ‘Wardrobe’ had to be underneath, which wasn’t a problem to us as we never really wanted it as a ‘Wardrobe’. We decided to put the shelves in which meant we then had more room for food storage. On the bottom we store the Cadac BBQ, the dog food and dog biscuits and the dustpan and brush. The top two shelves are used for food storage.

Curtain – we wanted to add a curtain between the back living/bedroom space and the kitchen area. This was so when we put Archie to bed we could separate the two areas and the light from our living area wouldn’t shine through to his bedroom. I used the same fleece material that I used for the seat covers, but on Archie’s side of the curtain I used a children’s alphabet material.

Single Bed in the front – we have added the option to turn the front seating area into a single bed, so if we can’t sleep in the poptop due to the weather or we are somewhere that is a bit noisy for the night, we can put Archie to bed in the single bed at the front and we can sleep comfortably in the back on the double bed. All we had to do to make this modification was to change the leg on the table to the one that folds in the middle rather than at the top, and fit a lower bracket to the wall so that the table could be mounted in the lower position.
Ladder for Pop Top – we have added extra brackets for the ladder, so we can actually access the roof with the ladders while the table is up in the dinette area now too. We have put the ladder so you can go up from the passenger seat straight up into the pop top. See the pictures below!
